Community Contributions are an important part of residential developments across the country, channelling much needed funding to worthy causes. Although community contributions are not mandatory, here at Intelligent Land Investments we aim to establish a community contribution for all our successful developments, including those which fall in areas where there is no requirement or indeed even expectation of such a scheme.
We deal with farmers and landowners up and down the country, helping them to realise the benefits that residential development can bring. However, these developments can also benefit the country as a whole by providing affordable and eco friendly housing, creating communities and employment and improving the local economy. Another benefit is the funding this can provide for charities across the country, particularly in these times of austerity when sourcing
funding is more difficult. Small charities working in local communities, for local communities, are feeling the pressure especially. Our aim is to direct funding from all of our successful developments to frontline charities across the country which work actively to make their local communities a better place.
The Company gains the trust of clients and suppliers as well as local communities and local authorities. This impacts positively on future development plans and makes our land development opportunities attractive to existing and potential clients and their friends and family. Commitment to improve corporate social responsibility performance helps us to attract and retain employees. It also improves our reputation with clients, shareholders, lenders and opinion formers.
ILI has a close relationship with St. Andrew’s Hospice, a local institution that offers palliative care to people living with life-limiting illnesses. As part of agreement with them we will donate £250,000 to the hospice when our site at Ramoan Farm attains planning and is sold onto the property developer.
Using the same model we will donate £100,000 when our site at Dalshannon reaches the same stage.
A number of our turbine projects included a Local Authority Community Contribution. This involved a contribution made directly to the local authority upon development of project to be allocated directly by them into local community projects. This contribution was voluntary and not a stipulation of planning however when requested we always agreed to include it as we knew that the communities directly affected by the project would benefit from the contribution.
